Wanting to start a family

By tonynkristal - on Oct 20, 2010
Posted in tonynkristal

I am 21 years old. I live in westland, Michigan. I have had three ectopic pregnancies and doctors can't figure out why. I want to be a mother and be able to experience mother hood. Sometimes I feel like I am not a woman at all. It is not fair that god gave some horible mothers children. I would be the best mother, I have so much love to give. My fiance and I have been trying for 3 years and it is just not happpening. I have my dad that has MS and he is trying to make it day to day on no money. So I have no one to really ask for support. I don't really have any friends I pretty much stay to myself. I would like to have an IVF invitrofertilization done but the cost is $7000 I will never have that kind of money. So does that mean that I will never have a baby? When I see other moms being mom it makes me so sad that I usually will go in the other room to cry. I have never been on this website. So i do not know who will respond or if anyone even will, but If you think you can help me and my fiance start a family please help us. We will owe you so much gratitude and thanks. We want this more than anything to be able to see me and him create one. please if you can .

Strange situation in America today - either abort or keep, but not place for adoption

By goodnewsforyou - on Sep 27, 2010
Posted in goodnewsforyou

There is a strange situation in America today. Last year, 16-20% of babies were aborted; a full 1.2 million. At the same time, there is no stigma to illegitimacy and many teenagers choose to keep their baby rather than place for adoption.
In American culture, education is no longer prized as it is in other countries. Becoming a professional takes years of hard study. Teenagers often take the easy route - become a single mom, working in low paying jobs and struggling on welfare.
Due to this shortage of babies, adoption agencies charge sky high fees. $20K-40K is the typical range. All they are doing is simply be a broker, a middleman that locates a birthmother for you. In other words, their fees are not justified by the labor involved.

Please join us in supporting our colleague Mrs. Petra Post, a licensed private investigator in Georgia. She and her dog Buddy, faithfully sign up every year to walk and raise funds for the Pregnancy Resource Center and Medical Clinic. The walk is schedualed for Saturday, September 18, 2010.
Her goal is to raise $500.00 before the walk. Contributions may be made through a verified and secure fund raising site in this link, who then ensures delivery to the resource center. To see how much she has raised so far, you can click the above link for real time updates.

Aplastic Anemia (Revised)

By PrincessRouge - on Sep 1, 2010
Posted in PrincessRouge

*I decided to move it here because I don't think it belongs in the about me section. This is only a glimpse into my life!* (Originally posted August 14)

I don't know where to begin... Stumbled on to this site from google because I was looking up information about Aplastic Anemia. It's a disease where your bone marrow can't produce your blood cells, usually because of a autoimmune disorder, meaning that your immune system is attacking the stem cells that produce your blood cells. I used to have it. It's considered a life threatening disease that you live with for the rest of your life unless you get a bone marrow transplant, and I haven't had one. But I don't like to say that, I believe words have power, so when I speak about it, I say I used to have it. I had drug therapy to treat it and I'm healthy now, not 100%, but healthy, so I consider my self cured. As far as I can tell anyway, I lost my health insurance in 2006. But anyway doctors however consider it being in remission.

I've been okay for years now, but every once in a while something will happen to make me think about when I used to be sick. I googled Aplastic Anemia and pregnancy. I never thought about it before, I was only 16 when I got sick. But I'm 23 now and I have found the love of my life and I wanted to know how it would affect me. I thought maybe there was a risk to the baby, a risk genetically as far as who I have a child with. But none of that was a problem. What I found out was that I could get sick again by getting pregnant. That scares me so much.

Apparently getting pregnant is actually a CAUSE of Aplastic Anemia. Even more surprising the first known case of Aplastic Anemia was in a pregnant woman. I guess I could handle the idea of a baby that doesn't exist yet being sick better than me getting sick again. Does that make me a horrible person? All my life, I just wanted to be normal, I've never had a normal life. Even before getting sick my life was pretty abnormal and bad (something I'll talk about in later posts). The minute I think it can't get worst than this it does. 2x. I felt like starting a new family, my OWN family would be a fresh start, and now I might even be denied that.

My pregnancies

By tatfamily - on Oct 25, 2009
Posted in tatfamily

If you are pregnant and full of pregnancy questions, then I know just how you feel.  I now have two children, a just turned 2 year old and a 5 week old.

My first pregnancy I read every book signed up for every newsletter online to get sent to my email and basically learned as much as I could.  Luckily I didn't really need much of that information since my first pregnancy went nice and smooth other then a little morning sickness.

Then I got pregnant with my second and was bombarded with all those little problems that make pregnancy uncomfortable.  I had pregnancy heartburn, morning sickness that lasted for half the pregnancy, back pain, swelling, you name I probably dealt with it.

I had a ton of pregnancy questions with my second but luckily I already knew most of the information from my first.  But because of having dealt with so much I decided to start a blog to help other pregnant women.  If you have pregnancy health issues or have questions than feel free to read my blog http://www.pregnancy-questions.net/.

1st post "Why the roof is falling in on us"

By Trisha29 - on Sep 29, 2008
Posted in Trisha29

Well this is my first post. And i forewarn you it will be long. just posting past history too, It is what got us into what we are in now, I found this page when looking for help in Ohio.

For the past 3 years my husband and i have been able to keep afloat., Its been stressful but we have done it. Just a few years ago when my sons lead test can back at 32, We tried to get help trough the state in removing lead from our home. Yes we new when we bought it, it was a older home and they said it had lead. No one told us the damage lead could cause in a child or for a family. The state health department couldn't offer any help but giving us deadlines to get this removed, and Noe we were told we couldn't do it by ourselves, well we did.. we couldn't afford 10,000 + dollars to have someone remove it or even more for someone to come paint it with a certain paint. Our son now has issues, they say he has aspergers a high functioning autism.

Life was going better and my husband and i got pregnant. I had a very rough pregnancy. I was suppose to be on bed rest over 1/2 of it but my husband was laid off in feb. And we were going on unemployment (not much) and my 48(min) hours a week. well i fought with the dr about this and won telling him I had more stress not working, was admitted to the hospital over 3 times. well may 12 our little boy was boy very healthy. at 7 15lbs. the hospital scared us when leaving they didn't think he would make it past the first weekend because he was droping weight we had a home nurse come and show us how to force feed him every 2-4 hours 3-4 oz to make him gain the weight back. @ months in we was the same weight as other babies his age...so we get over that block in our path then, I notice a trend going on in my job. All older employees there were being fired.... I watched all my co workers leave, I confronted my boss the owner one night on the phone telling him I see a pattern and I am next. All he did was laugh at me telling me that I was crazy. I would be labeled #9. that everyone being paid 10 or over and full time with benefits were being let go, i was 9 and I know who is next. But he was on med leave when I was let go. sure enough the next day I was told there was a man. full staff meeting. I text another employee to see if she heard it yet, to see if they were firing me like they did a few others, a set up meeting not a full staff. Well their was a meeting. BUT i got fired for asking another employee told i was gossiping...

Now here I sit because i was on leave when pregnant and 12 weeks after and my husband laid off feb-june. We are being foreclosed on. Never in our lives did we think this would happen. We just don't know where to turn from here. My aunt has a place we can move into because she is disabled and ha to move to another state to be looked after by her sister and her family. But the shape the house is in. it needs soo much tlc. while i was working we saw we were loosing out home, so we did working my aunts house Ive spent over $500. in just dumpsters, and have to get a HUGE one for 495. next coons put a hole in the roof and destroyed everything upstairs.  and now with it being like that for so long and all the rain we have to do a new roof.  and we need to figure out how to get the smell out of the house we have tried everything, also water leak in basement so we have musty smell there.

I'm in dire need of help so if there is anyone in Ohio that knows about roofing or anything else that could help us out please let me know.I don't know how much longer we will be in our home, I know we cant move into my aunts with our children in the shape it is in right now, Also checking into habitat for humanity too.. I have no problem with work min 48 hours a week and i had worked 10 days 12 hour shifts right before i was let go. was suppose to work 13, 12 hour shifts in a row, off 1 day then back for 6 more. Because of the firing they did a week before.

Help Save Babies

Hello everyone. I am asking for your help with a very important mission. For those you don’t know, I am a mother. My name is Michelle Glick. I am the mother of three children. This story is about my second child, Matthew Liam Rupe. After a difficult pregnancy Matthew was born at 22 weeks gestation. He weighed 15.6 ounces and was 10 inches long. I had a blood clot in my uterus the whole time I was pregnant and the doctors didn’t know what to do. I was told to terminate the pregnancy. I didn’t even consider it. Matthew was born on March 19, 2004. He would be 4 years old soon. Prematurity is a growing problem. Every year 500,000 babies are born too soon. Many of these babies die or face lifelong health problems. I want to make sure that no family has to suffer the pain that me and my family endured and still do. What I can do is honor my sons memory and the memory of those who have passed on. I hope none of you have experienced this terrible tragedy. I also walk for the healthy babies in my life as can you. Every year, I walk in the March of Dimes Walk America. The logo has changed now to March for Babies but it is still the same mission. I am walking to raise money for research, advocacy and medical advances so that all babies will have a chance to grow up healthy and happy. I have a website set up to raise funds for my team. The link is www.marchforbabies.org/momtoanangelboy. There is a picture of my son on the site. Please help and be thankful for the healthy baby in your life. It could even be you! Thank you everyone. If you would like more information please e-mail me at mommyofchassidy@yahoo.com

God bless,

Michelle Glick

2 surgeries in 1 yr and a disabling disease

By samuelsfamily - on Aug 28, 2007
Posted in samuelsfamily

I do not know where to start or whether anyone will actually read this but I will try my best to explaine my situation. My name is Angela and I am 26yrs old. My finance\'s name is Jontell. We bought our first house (a fixer-upper)in April of 2006. We new our budget would be tight but locked into a 2yr arm at 9.125% and had the closing costs paid by the seller. Our plan was to build our credit, refinance the house, pay the car off and I was to go back to school. It was all a part of the American Dream we wanted so badly, house, kids, dog. We wanted to get married in the fall of 2006. On 8-3-2006 my fiance severed his radial artery in this left wrist with a chisel at work. 5 days later I found out I was pregnant. We were elated and overjoyed. We had been trying for a year and a half and now it had finally happened. At about 6wks into the pregancy on 8-23-2006 I started bleeding and the doctors decided to do an ultrasound. What they found on the ultrasound was a baby with a heartbeat nestled in my left fallopian tube. I was sent for an emergency Laproscopic Salpingecty. The baby and tube were removed. The hospital bills were overwhelming being that we were on such a tight budget. The majority of the bills were stuck on credit cards with high interst rates as this was our only option. I was out of work for a mmonth and my finance worked 2 fulltime jobs to try and recover from the bils. This began to be too much on him physically( your body can only function on 3-4 hrs of sleep for so long) and after 3 months had to go back to only working one. In march of 2007 Jontell was laid off of work for 2 months. His unemployment was almost as much as his net pay from his job, because he had been working 2 fulltime jobs for a period, which helped but also hindered. If he were to find another job they would deduct the money from his unemployment and being that we only have one car he could not get to one that paid as much as his unemployment was paying. Things were looking brighter when he went back to work in April. We work together in a local window factory. I am one of the few women who work there. It is hard work but pays better then what I was making as a CNA. We were planning to marry again in the fall. Nothing special not even a wedding dress. I just wanted the papers saying legally Jontell was my husband, which I consider him already. In June of 2007 I started getting really sick with severe pain, and headaches. After several tests I was diagnosed with Rhuematoid Arthritis, an autoimmune disease. I ended up on intermitent, FMLA, medical leave. I have a hard time getting up in the morning somedays and there is no way I am going to be able to stand on my feet for 10hrs or lift 75lbs on those days at work. On 8-20-2007 I went into the doctor because of some pelvic pain I was having. They did a simple pregnancy test and it came back possitive. I was shocked. I had labs done and was sent for an ultrsound right away. There was nothing in my uterus but they did find a donut shaped \"mass\" which they could not tell if it was in my right ovary or tube. The next day my lab results were in and it was decided the \"mass\" was a pregnancy and surgery was the only option due to the pain I was having. I went for my second Laproscopic Salpingectomy on 8-21-07. 2 babies gone, 2 tubes gone and 2 days short of exactly one yr from the first surgery. I am now not working and trying to recover from the surgery. I have been trying to sell items on on ebay with my own store to make some extra money but the profit is so small it does not cover my loss in pay from not working. My employer changed our medical coverage this year so we have a higher deductible and higher out of pocket maximum. I do not know how we are going to be able to pay the hospital, surgeon, 2 anesthesiologists, and the pathologist. So far I have gotten the bill from the surgeon and my part is $847.39. I do not even know if we are going to be able to pay our mortgage of $961.20 this month or the property taxes ($525) we have comming up that are due on October 15 2007. I do not know what to expect from this, I have never asked for help like this before. I guess I just pray someone out there will see this and find it in there heart to help with God\'s good grace. I want to thank you just for taking the time to read this and let you know any help would be appreciated.

Any Suggestions?

By The Real Sarah - on Jun 21, 2007
Posted in The Real Sarah

Hi, my name is Sarah, and I seems to have gotten myself into a terrible mess. I was wondering if you had any suggestions. I'm 26, and a single mother of one...right now. I'm pregnant and the father of my baby-to-be refuses to "be the father of my child". So needless to say, once I'm too pregnant to be able to work, I will have no one else's help. It wouldn't be SUCH a bad situation, except for the fact that I'm out of work right now, without transportation, or the means to obtain any, and have no education. I've been a construction worker (carpentry, remodling) for the last three years, and it's the only thing I really know how to do, and or can find a decent paying job doing. That's the bad part. Being pregnant, my doctor strongly recommends against working construction due to the fact, well, it's hard labor and could put me and or my child at serious risk. The only reason I even still have a place to live at this point is thanks to now multiple loans from my father, who now refuses to help any more than he has. I've applied for jobs at every place I would possibly be able to walk to, with no luck. I am COMPLETELY broke, as in I don't even have enough money to ride the bus anywhere to look for work. And on top of it all, I have hepititus c, which causes me to have severe fatigue, and it seems to have almost tripled in severity with my pregnancy. I have less than two weeks now to figure out some way to come up with my rent for the month, and I'm not sure what to do. I've managed to get on W.I.C., and medicaid, before I finally ran out of (birthday) money to spend on trips to the welfare office. I can't even seem to find a ride there with any of my friends, because they all work the same hours as the welfare office is open. Might you have any suggestions? P.S. I'm also concerned that I'm not getting enough nutrition due to the fact I more or less LIVE off of W.I.C. and nothing else.

Assistance for Invitro Fertilization

By Annette's Dream - on Mar 25, 2007... modified on Mar 25, 2007
Posted in Annette's Dream

Please,

Anyone that can assist would be a godsend.  My wife and I have been married for about 8 1/2 years now and together for a total of 10 years without 1 pregnancy.  My wife and I have an oppurtunity to have Invitro Fertilization performed for only $8,000 through a vitamin study.  Normally it is a nearly $20,000 procedure.  I am in need of nearly all the money at this point.  We only have until near the end of April 2007 to come up with at least $6,400 of the total.  The money is tight since my wife also suffers from Systemic Lupus and is unable to keep full time employment.  This is probably the main cause of us not getting pregnant by this point in our marriage, the SLE.  If there is anyone out there that can or is willing to assist in anyway please contact us as soon as you are able to do so.

With Sincerest and humble Thanks

PREGNANT - Need To See A Doctor - Any Suggenstions?

By Young Mother '86 - on Mar 18, 2007
Posted in Young Mother '86

We recently found out we are pregnant and that our insurance only covers complicated pregnancy. I hav enot seen a doctor yet, because we already have some medical debt and I want ot see if there any help out here before make that debt even larger. I'm not sure who to contact for help or who's out there. If you know who I should speak with, please let me know.

Our family makes to much for Medicaid, not enough to pay for everything upfront. We live in Tx near the Dallas Fort Worth Area.

Thank You!
